7pm Georges Passage

My paintings blend elements of landscape and architectural forms into a dynamic, expressive explorations of abstraction. Drawing from photographs and memories of feeling, these five paintings combine the forms, line, and color of an evening in Paris, seeking also to elicit the emotional experience of the little moments. In this case, 7pm in a Parisian restaurant "Georges". Drawing from the feeling of a summer day with earth green tones hinting at a landscape, and blues to suggest moments of sky. I used red to draw from the dark lit restaurant, with light shining through elements of architecture throughout the building, contrasted by yellow and orange Allowing a warm moment to soften harsh strokes. The emphasis of my work then lies in my process. Using color as my language, I am inviting the viewer into the experience of the painting. This series’ balance of generative and destructive gestures countering each other become a representation of my artistic process, an intimate practice of constant conversation between myself and the painting
